Big Book of Maps: May 2017 Summary

I just sent out the month-end summary for May2017 for The Big Book of Maps project.

It's been a very productive month: 24 new maps released and over 100 new map icons (5 new icon sets). Dynamic calculation indicates the project is currently 26 days ahead of schedule (not bad for the first full month!).

Check out the full update here.

According to the numbers (map release count, project deadline, days since DDT launch) we’re currently 26 days ahead of schedule, and the entire project is over 18% complete.

I’ve added these dynamic calculations to the DDT just beneath the “News” section. This way everyone can keep track of where the project is at and how much progress has been made via a live view.

Updates & New Features for the DDT –

Aside from adding in the “Progress Calculation” widget, I haven’t made many updates to the Digital Distribution Tool this past month. I did a few tweaks to squelch bugs (documented in the comments section here on Kickstarter), but mainly I’ve been focusing on getting content out and working on the custom maps for backers.

Maw of the Dark Tide

Another Mini-Dungeon adventure that I authored is now available for pruchase. Maw of the Dark Tide (published by AAW Games / Adventureaweek.com) is an adventure for 5-8 PCs of Levels 15-20.

“The Dark Tide Comes!” goes out the cry as the bells of the monastery begin to toll. It is too late. Dozens of tattooed cultists in service to the dark goddess Xyn burst through barricaded gates, slaughtering many. Within minutes the monastery is engulfed in flames. The cultist recede back to their mysterious floating isle and set back to sea, making way down the coast toward neighboring temples and shrines. No demands, just wanton violence and destruction of yet another holy site. The reign of terror must be stopped!

This adventure is available for purchase via Adventureaweek.com, DriveThruRPG, RPGNow, and Paizo.

Monster of the Month #2: Krasue

Another Monster of the Month has been released by AAW Games today.

"The krasue is a nocturnal female undead/vampire-like creature from Thai mythology. Its disembodied floating humanoid head suspends a mass of internal organs, and it is accompanied by a luminescent glow. It feeds upon the blood and flesh of the living.

The krasue floats about under cover of night, but must return to its hidden body during daylight hours or it begins to die. During the day is remains hidden in a state of hibernation until the sun sets. If a krasue cannot return to its body after a few days the krasue is destroyed. Likewise, if its hidden body is destroyed, the krasue is immediately destroyed. For this reason the krasue hides its body at a location which is difficult terrain for its potential enemies (deep caverns, a forgotten tomb, or buried deep in swamp muck). The head and body do not age, and are perfectly preserved in a youthful state. There are two ways a krasue comes into being – the first being a powerful curse cast upon a dying lady of royal descent, or alternatively, a sorceress suffering a catastrophic failure while wielding powerful primal/wild magic. The krasue can smell the living, and it is particularly attracted to the scent of fresh blood which it can detect in a range of miles with perfect accuracy."

Monster of the Month brings to life a new monster from ancient folklore every single month for both Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition and the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

Created using actual folklore gathered by Justin Andrew Mason then expertly illustrated by AAW Games' lead artist Mates Laurentiu (Romania), the monsters are then crafted by Stephen Rowe (Pathfinder RPG) and Chris Harris (5th Edition). Leonid Ponomarev is also converting both versions over for use in the Fantasy Grounds virtual tabletop.

AAW Games is offering MotM in PDF, print 8 x 10 cardstock, and Fantasy Grounds so GMs and DMs can easily add new and exciting opponents to their ongoing campaigns.

Subscribers to Adventureaweek.com receive Monster of the Month for free in addition to AaW full product catalog access (online flipbook format) and 2 PDF downloads per month.

Adventureaweek.com also features an extensive audio soundboard, the Aventyr Campaign Setting, and new races/classes for players.

Get the Monster of the Month#: Krasue (from Thai Mythology) available for purchase via Adventureaweek.com (PFRPG/5E), DriveThruRPG (PFRPG/5E), RPGNow (PFRPG/5E), Paizo (PFRPG).
